Sophie Turner has discussed the “beautiful relationship” she shared with her ex-husband, Joe Jonas, before their shock split.

The 28-year-old Game of Thrones star was married to the 35-year-old Jonas Brothers singer in 2019, and together, they welcomed daughters Willa and Delphine in 2020 and 2022 respectively. When the couple announced their marriage was over last year and their divorce was finalized in September of this year, the couple’s fans were shocked.

Sophie and Joe regularly shared photos of themselves looking loved up together while they were together, which delighted their fans. And the British actress even appeared in a music video for the Jonas brothers – alongside Joe’s brothers Nick, 32, and Kevin, 36, and their respective wives Priyanka Chopra, 42, and Danielle Deleasa, 38.

Sophie now has a second look at her marriage to Joe, says she remembers it fondly, and admits it’s “incredibly sad” that it all came apart. She also expressed her hope for her two daughters’ futures.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar, Sophie said: “I’m going through a legal process right now where I can’t really say much, but it was incredibly sad. We had a beautiful relationship, and it was hard”.

The TV host continued, “I hope my daughters will find her to be a successful provider for them.” She continued, “I want them to see that I have a social life, enjoy my job, and succeed in my relationships and career.” I want them to see a hard-working mum. I’ll come back and say, ‘ This is why Mummy was away – it’s because she’s doing this for you, so Father Christmas can come with a big bundle of presents'”.

Her most recent interview came shortly after she claimed to have felt “shame” about being a mother. She told the Sunday Times Culture magazine last month: “There’s so much shame that comes with motherhood. You go to work, you’re shamed. If you don’t go to work, you’re shamed”.

Sophie, who recently played a con artist in the hit ITV crime drama Joan, claimed that putting her self-care into work helped her survive her divorce. She said: “Joan changed me quite a lot. There is a lot of will and ambition that results from total desperation. When I had to be ambitious and have such strong will and combat the forces, the series came about. She gave me a lot of strength”.

Despite the collapse in her marriage, Sophie has not given up on love. Since then, she has begun a relationship with businessman Peregrine “Perry” Pearson, who is the company’s director and has a reportedly worth of £224 million. Sophie celebrated his birthday this month by posting a collection of photos of them together on Instagram, captioned “Happy Birthday my angel pie, 30, flirty and thriving.”
