Smith set to start at fly-half for England

England will face France at Allianz Stadium on Saturday in a full-back match at full-back, with Fin Smith playing fly-half.
If confirmed, it will be a first Test start for Northampton’s Fin Smith, 22, after winning his previous seven caps from the bench.
After starting England’s last eight games at number 10, it means Marcus Smith is set to transition to his less well-known full-back position.
On Thursday, England will announce the starting XV and replacement players.
France travels to Twickenham after defeating Wales 53-10 in the previous round.
Meanwhile England were beaten by Ireland in Dublin, a result which leaves Steve Borthwick’s side on a record seven-match losing run against tier one nations.
The Rugby Union Weekly podcast featured senior coach Richard Wigglesworth telling the team, “We are the England rugby team, and we want to win.”
Because that is what I want and what we are all working toward, I have no objection to people wanting more victories.
” The outcome that we want is to win, so we are not avoiding that. “
In addition, changes are expected for the back row and back three, with Tom Willis likely to start for England’s Test team at number eight.
Wigglesworth claims that selecting the right team in order to defeat France must be weighed up by the coaches.
England “cleaned and changed the team for many, many years, leaving the players with little cohesion and little confidence in the coaches,” he said.
” And that didn’t work for a long time.
We are aware of the shortcomings of the past, and we don’t want to make the same error in a panic.
