For the third T20 against India on Tuesday in Rajkot, Batter Jamie Smith will play for England.

Smith made 22 from 12 balls on his T20 international debut in Saturday’s two-wicket defeat in the second match of the series.

Jacob Bethell, who had missed out on the England team due to illness, was still able to train on Monday.

England are 2-0 down in the five-match series.

“You’ve got to believe, haven’t you”? England’s fast bowler, Mark Wood, said.

“It’s no good sitting there saying ‘ that’s it’. Three games remain to be played, and there are three chances to win.

Wood, 35, has been sidelined since August with an elbow stress fracture, but he has now played in both of the series matches.

Wood has bowled five overs totaling one wicket and allowing runs at an average of 8.83 per over in the series.

“I’ve felt a little bit ‘ hitty-missy'”, he said. “I’ve done a couple of good things, it’s great that my pace is up there, but maybe my accuracy at time hasn’t been quite where I wanted it.

” When I haven’t played since August, that’s pretty much expected. Hopefully the more I play, the better I get. “
