Shettima In Maiduguri On Condolence Visit To Families Of Slain Soldiers

The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, on Friday visited Maiduguri, the Borno State capital to meet with the families of soldiers who lost their lives during a terrorist attack in Damboa.

Shettima is in the state’s north-eastern state to offer the families of the fallen soldiers their sincere condolences and to honor their most sacrificing sacrifice.

His media aide, Stanley Nkwocha, disclosed this in a statement, saying Shettima also visited the Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum.

The Vice President is in Maiduguri to honor the fallen soldiers’ greatest sacrifice and express condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the federal government, according to the statement.

“The soldiers who perished in the Damboa, Borno State attack successfully thwarted an assault that had led to the neutralization of 34 terrorists at a Forward Operating Base in Sabon Gari. They paid the ultimate sacrifice.”

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had demanded a thorough investigation in the wake of the tragic incident to find out what had transpired and ensure that it serves as a useful lesson for preventing similar events.

On arrival, the Vice President was received at the Maiduguri International Airport by the Borno State Governor, the Deputy Governor, Umar Kadafur, Minister of State for Regional Development, Uba Maigari Ahmadu, Special Adviser to the President on Health, Dr. Salma Anas-Kolo, and Deputy National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) North, Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori.
