Shakib Al Hasan, a Bangladesh international player, is still prohibited from bowling in international cricket despite failing to undergo an independent review of his performance.

Shakib, 37, was investigated for his bowling in his only Surrey County Championship appearance last year, and he was given an eight-game suspension for the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) competitions.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) later confirmed that the ban was in effect for all international and domestic cricket competitions.

Shakib was given the opportunity to play as a specialist batter in all types of cricket, according to the BCB on Saturday, despite the fact that he re-examined his situation in Chennai, India, last month.

Bangladesh must now decide whether to select Shakib as one of their 15-man squad for the 50-over tournament despite the fact that he has previously stated that he intends to leave international cricket after the Champions Trophy in March.

Former Tigers captain Shakib has played 71 Tests, 247 one-day internationals and 129 T20s for Bangladesh.

He has almost certainly played his final Test for Bangladesh, who have no other Tests scheduled before the Champions Trophy debuts on February 19th. He has already retired from T20 internationals.

After testing at Loughborough University determined that the slow left-arm spinner’s elbow extension was beyond the 15-degree mark permitted by ECB regulations, the bowler was suspended from the sport in December.
