Selena Gomez, a singer and actress, was seen flaunting her pyjamas and covering her mouth as she learned about the Golden Globes.

For her role in Emilia Pérez, the singer and actor rose to fame on Disney Channel and won the award for Best Performance in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture. She was nominated alongside her co-star Zoe Saldana.

She received the award for her role in the musical or comedy category of Only Murders In The Building in addition to her nomination for Best Female Actor in a Television Series. The comedy series Hulu won the comedy category’s Best Television Series award.

Karla Sofia Gascón, the lead actress in Emilia Pérez, has received the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Musical or Comedy. When Selena learned about her nominations, Selena was lying on a couch. She gasped and sat up in shock as her name was awarded the award for “Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role” in any motion picture category. On her Instagram Stories, she showed the footage to her followers.

“I don’t even know what to write. She capped the sweet video with, “I’m so proud of Zoe and I’m so grateful and honored Golden Globes.” Selena wore a cozy tank top and a fluffy throw blanket to keep warm in the short video shared with the audience.

The 32-year-old also gave a shout out to the lead actress of Emilia Pérez, writing: “Mi amor I am so proud and grateful to know you”! The movie has scooped up 10 nominations for the 2025 Golden Globes. Emilia Pérez, however, received a standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year and started receiving mixed reviews on Netflix.

The thriller follows a cartel leader who recruits a lawyer to help him have gender-affirming surgery in an effort to live more authentically. It is directed by French filmmaker Jacques Audiard. Following its release last month, a X/Twitter user shared a snippet from the movie with the caption: “If this doesn’t convince you to watch Emilia Pérez on Netflix, I don’t know what will”.

The post, which received hundreds of thousands of views, sparked a contentious debate among moviegoers. Many people responded to the post, saying they were unable to watch the clip because of it. One wrote: “Well, it certainly convinced me NOT to watch it”, with another adding: “Nothing will convince me apparently because this is f**** terrible, dude”. A third and fourth commenter similarly disparaged the thriller, saying: “Wtf is this..”. and “I now know I’ll never watch it again.”
