For a new Mountain Dew commercial that will air during this weekend’s Superbowl, pop legend Seal has transformed into an actual seal.
The Grammy-winning artist Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel, who goes by Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide, was undoubtedly up to what he called in the bizarre new commercial, which featured the singer being sandwiched between a group of seals while moving around rocks.
Seal, who was previously married to Heidi Klum, even sings his iconic 1994 hit, Kiss From A Rose, with a Mountain Dew lyric twist in the commercial. “The more I think of it, it’s strange I’m a seal”, he begins to sing, serenading fellow artist Becky G, who also appears in the advert. He continues, singing: “My flippers can’t hold Mountain Dew / it slips right on through, what a shame”.
The advert, which promotes the brand’s new Tropical Lime flavoured Baja Blast, begins slightly less abnormally with Becky G in a kitchen. However, when she takes a sip of the new Mountain Dew flavour, she’s transported to a tropical island – where Seal, as a seal, comes in. “Well, this is the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen”!, says Becky during the advert.
The Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles in a game that will be broadcast on February 9 during the Superbowl. The Kansas City Chiefs will be defending their title and aiming for a third-year triumph, which New Orleans will host.
One of sport’s biggest events in the US calendar, the Superbowl will see Kendrick Lamar take to the pitch for the coveted halftime slot, alongside his long time collaborator, R&, B starSZA. Kendrick, 37, was announced as the halftime performer in September byJay-Z, whose company Roc Nation works with theNFLto select the halftime show performer.

A number of other famous faces are set to grace the stadium, including Taylor Swift, who will be supporting her Chiefs player boyfriend, Travis Kelce. During last year’s Superbowl, Travis hired out a lavish £1.4m suite in the stadium for Taylor, her family and his family to support him.
In New Orleans, the Chiefs and Eagles play at around 11:30 pm (local time) in the United Kingdom, which is 5:30 pm. Expect this game to begin on Monday morning, which is typical for the Super Bowl, which lasts for three to four hours.
