Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt has returned from England’s training camp in South Africa for family reasons.

Sciver-Brunt is not expected to return to Pretoria, where England are playing an intra-squad series as part of their build-up to a home T20 World Cup this summer.

It is understood a member of Sciver-Brunt’s family is ill, though it is not her wife Katherine – the former England fast bowler – or their son Theo.

England are training and playing five intra-squad matches in Pretoria in a rare gap in their schedule. They have not played since the World Cup in October.

The camp was due to take place in Abu Dhabi and was moved to South Africa because of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

England are playing five matches in Pretoria, the second of which takes place on Thursday.
