After having successful surgery to remove a bleed from his brain following a fall during training, French skier Cyprien Sarrazin has left intensive care.

Sarrazin, 30, was airlifted to hospital after losing control while training for the World Cup downhill in Bormio, Italy, on Friday. The same day, he underwent surgery to lessen an intracranial haematoma.

“His state of health is stable. The French Ski Federation posted on X on Thursday, “He was discharged from intensive care and admitted to a care unit.”

“Despite the violent impact, no other injuries have been reported,” says the rest of the medical evaluation, which includes foot and knee pain.

” The length of his unavailability is currently undetermined. “

The slopes are scheduled to host some competitions for the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics, and several skiers have already been injured at Bermio over the past week.

Italian skier Josua Mettler suffered knee injuries in a collision on the same day as Pietro Zazzi, who was taken to the hospital for treatment on Friday.

Gino Caviezel, a Swiss skier, was airlifted to a hospital after suffering a serious crash during Sunday’s World Cup Super-G in Bormio.
