Rivers SSG Warns Against Taking Fubara’s Simplicity For Weakness
Dr. Tammy Danagogo, the SSG’s secretary, has warned that Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s calm and peaceful approach to governance should not be mistaken for weakness.
He issued a warning in the midst of criticism from the Governor’s critics, particularly Nyesom Wike, the FCT’s Minister.
Danagogo’s performance in Fubara’s administration, particularly his decision to sign the letter inviting lawmakers to meet with the Governor, was criticized by opponents.
Danagogo’s letter was described by Wike as “useless.”
Dr. Danagogo argued with journalists during the commissioning of the Okrika Grammar School in Okrika that the SSG should have written a letter for an informal meeting.
He added that this communication was within his official duties and not an overreach.

Danagogo, a lawyer from the Kalabari region who also served as SSG under Wike’s second governorship, noted that he had other similar responsibilities under the previous administration.
He emphasized that the need to set the record straight and refute misrepresentations was not the object of his response.
Danagogo praised the governor for restraint in the face of repercussions, particularly the recent lockdown of the state assembly complex, which prevented him from presenting the budget.
He noted that some previous governors who faced similar circumstances might have taken drastic measures, but Fubara chose to keep things simple.
He further assured the people of Rivers that the state government is still committed to their well-being and economic stability.
