Rivers Elder Sara-Igbe Calls For Wike’s Suspension, Faults Fubara’s Removal
Anabs Sara-Igbe, a member of the Rivers Elders Council, requested on Friday that President Bola Tinubu suspend Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister, in light of the crisis that is roiling Rivers State.
Sara-Igbe, who was a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today, criticizes the removal of Ngozi Odu and Siminalayi Fubara as governor.
He claimed that Tinubu, the president, is unable to revoke a governor’s democratic election.
According to Sara-Igbe, “He does not have the constitutional authority to suspend the governor.” “But a minister who is stoking the whole issue that he appointed has never questioned or approved him.
What prevents him from prosecuting the minister responsible for the situation entirely? He inquired.

The governor and his deputy were suspended on Tuesday as a result of the president’s declaration of state of emergency in the oil-rich state. Additionally, he also suspended the Rivers Assembly’s first six-month elected members.
According to Tinubu, the state’s “strange violence in the last 24 hours,” which included explosions and petroleum pipeline vandalism, is the driving force behind his actions in response to the state’s political crises.
The elder statesman weighed in on the issue and claimed Wike was the cause of the oil-rich state.
Sara-Igbe argued that the President’s decision to suspend Fubara and sever Wike from the FCT was unfair.
You can’t suspend a minister who is the root cause of the problem, but you can suspend an elected governor.
