Reps Fume As Service Chiefs, IGP Shun Debate

The absence of the service chiefs and Police Inspector General Kayode Egbetokun from the interactive session on Thursday during plenary has infuriated the House of Representatives.
Instead, representatives were sent by the security chiefs.
As it intends to do with other parts of the nation, the House had scheduled a sectoral discussion with the security chiefs last week.
The House rejected the security heads’ representation and instead postponed the session in response to Benjamin Kalu’s constitutional point of order.
The House insisted that the service chiefs attend the debate, so the engagement has been moved to Tuesday of next week.
