After Rebecca Yarros gave a key hint for book 4, Fourth Wing fans believe they have determined the fate of one character. The bestselling author has been giving interviews about her writing process, favorite elements of the new book, and a preview of what to expect from the upcoming book since Onyx Storm first hits stores on January 21.
Violet Sorrengail, Xaden Riorson, and the other cadets at Basgiath War College are the subjects of the third book in the Empyrean series, which also includes Fourth Wing and Iron Flame. It sold 2.7 million copies in its first week, becoming the fastest-selling adult novel in 20 years.
However, as readers who have already finished reading the book will know, it ends on a pretty big cliffhanger, with lots of unanswered questions. It should come as no surprise that TikTok is full of fans who are eager to keep their minds entertained because book four is not coming any soon.

One of the hosts recently posed a question to Rebecca about a particular burning question that many fans had recently discussed in an interview with the Fantasy Fangirls Podcast. At the conclusion of Onyx Storm, they asked: “If one wishes we paid attention to a new family member like a brother, what might you wish we pay attention to?” and referring to the unknown character who turns Venin.
Rebecca replied: “I would pay attention to who’s missing at the end. Someone who feels like what they have received is insufficient should be watching closely.
As the crowd reacted, Rebecca continued: “Which is always the case when you turn Venin. You’re always looking for power that is beyond your own, in part because of this. You aren’t given enough power. It’s not a spoiler”!
Fans were quick to speculate about who Rebecca might be referring to in the comments section, with one saying, “It has to be Garrick then no. He’s the only one who wasn’t there”. Another said: “Garrick Garrick Garrick”.
Not everyone agreed however, with one also suggesting: “It’s gotta be Bodhi. Yes, she claims Garrick is missing, but Rebecca is too blind to do that. Another agreed, writing: “BODHI”.
A third added: “Bodhi! He couldn’t counter Venin signets, he felt pushed aside the entire book by Xaden, he says he’ll always be Xaden’s right-hand..”.
And another commented: “How did you guys get her to spill this much TEA?!!!! So much information!!! “!
