Rangers win to move closer to SWPL leaders
To defeat Spartans, Rangers resisted the SWPL and came away with three goals in the second half, beating Glasgow City.
Within a seven-minute period, Kate Fraser had already been sent off for Spartans when Katie Wilkinson scored twice. The visitors came away with a late third, led by Jane Ross.
Later on Sunday, Celtic moved fourth after defeating Hearts 4-0 while City lost 3-1 to hosts Hibernian.
Motherwell defeated Montrose 4-1 to defeat them in a red card situation at Links Park. Well’s first-half goals came from Laura Berry and Louisa Boyes, and Katie Rice added a third shortly after the break.
Chelsie Watson was then sent off, and Montrose’s Jade McLaren followed after receiving a second booking. In the fifth minute of added time, Laura McCartney scored the final goal.
At Petershill Park, Partick Thistle defeated Dundee United, who were on par with the result. Thistle’s opener was scored by Rachel Donaldson, and Megan Burns’ own goal put it to two. Before Amy Taylor’s late United reply, Imogen Longcake and Tiree Burchill extended the Partick advantage.
