Manager Phillipe Clement claims that the Rangers players have lost all of the credibility they once had with the fans following one of the club’s worst defeats in the history of the club.

The Ibrox side had a winning streak of six wins in seven, with the only defeat coming at Old Trafford in the Europa League, but their second-tier Glasgow rivals humiliatedly ejected from the competition.

Seb Drozd’s 69th-minute strike gave the visitors the lead but it seemed Rangers would equalise when they were awarded a stoppage-time penalty.

In the past few weeks and months, they have reclaimed credit from the fans. Today, they lost everything”, Clement said.

“They are right to be angry. I’m angry. The players are aware of this and say it’s unacceptable.

In the second half, there were too many emotions. The team was too hurried to score, and there was less restraint than in recent months.

Only winning the Europa League would prevent a second season without a trophy, especially with Rangers’ defeat and their 13-point league deficit.

After that, Clement said, “It’s happened a lot in the past,” and he continued to insist that he is confident in his future at the club.

” Results like this are frustrating, but the only way for this club to build something is to keep consistency, “the Belgian said.

” Last week, everyone was saying the team is taking good steps and growing. Today was nothing to do with tactics. It’s about the quality of the moment.

Former Rangers midfielder Derek Ferguson: “I’ve heard too many excuses.

” If the manager is angry, you can imagine how the fans will be feeling tonight. They’re devastated, but I want to hear players devastated. I didn’t see that.

“It’s as if it didn’t mean enough to the players. They might believe that they are done and that everything is fine now that they are in the last 16 of the Europa League. It’s not. That’s the job of a manager to keep them motivated.

Clement is in serious danger of losing his job because of this. With the manager’s assistance, he must win games like this.

Ian McCall, a former Rangers midfielder, says, “Every time Clement is under pressure, they do really well.”

You can see some progress with two or three players who could fit the player trading model, according to the European results.

However, this kind of outcome, which puts you 13 points adrift of your title rivals, is unacceptable.

“He’s got to be under serious pressure now. The noise will be the loudest it has ever been tomorrow morning despite my never calling for anyone to get the bullet.
