For Wales’ World Cup qualifying campaign, it will take a long time for Captain Aaron Ramsey to be physically fit.

The Cardiff City midfielder, 34, has not played since injuring his hamstring playing for Wales against Montenegro in September.

Ramsey had previously agreed to return to training with Cardiff before suffering a setback after originally being expected to play again after two months.

The former player from Arsenal and Juventus may not be ready for Wales’ opening World Cup match against Kazakhstan on March 22.

“Aaron is still rehabbing”, said Cardiff manager Omer Riza.

“His recovery is a little slower because he’s picked up these injuries without being under a lot of pressure,” he said.

” He’s just been doing his rehab and I think it might be March time for Aaron]to return]. “

Since David Turnbull had surgery on a hamstring injury in December, Cardiff are currently without the midfielder.

Riza hopes to have Turnbull back before the end of the season is feared, but the former Celtic player is likely to miss the remainder of the season.

It appeared to be the season’s conclusion at first. It’s still quite long but he’s had the operation and walking around, “the Cardiff boss added.
