Pulse upset champions Lightning for two wins from two

Loughborough Lightning, the defending Netball Super League champions, defeated London Pulse 77-51 to claim two victories in a row.
After the first quarter, Sam Bird’s team held a slim two-point lead over Nottingham Forest before regaining it at the break and never relinquish it.
In a dominant performance for Pulse, who defeated Leeds Rhinos to win the first Netball Super Cup earlier this month, Olivia Tchine top-scored with 37 goals.
Loughborough, who suffered their first defeat of the season, had 15th place in the scoring chart after Ella Clark.
A “reality check” of Pulse’s victory reaction
Sam Bird, the coach of the London Pulse, said, “It seemed to me that we had the upper hand throughout.” The performances have us very pleased. You have to be pleased that they are the champions and that we have given a performance in their hometown.
