As punishment for homophobic chanting by their supporters, Paris St-Germain will be forced to close a portion of the Parc des Princes for their Ligue 1 game against Toulouse in the following month.

Fans chanted about Marseille midfielder Adrien Rabiot during PSG’s 4-2 home victory over Strasbourg on October 19th during the incident.

Rabiot, a France international, spent time with PSG between 2012 and 2019, before leaving for Juventus to join rivals Marseille on a free transfer in September.

PSG played Marseille eight days after the Strasbourg match, winning 3-0 at the Stade Velodrome.

The Auteuil stand must be closed, according to the Ligue de Football Professional (LFP), with the closure of the goal traditionally reserved for some of the club’s ultras.

However, the sanction does not start until 5 November which means PSG’s Ligue 1 match against Lens this weekend will take place without any restrictions.

Instead, PSG will have to close some of their ground in preparation for Toulouse’s scheduled visit on November 22.
