Prince Harry’s ‘rattled’ response to Meghan Markle divorce rumours branded ‘strange’
After addressing the unbalanced rumors surrounding his marriage to Meghan Markle and their living arrangements, Prince Harry sparked a mixed response from Royal commentators.
Harry touched on a number of aspects of his life, including the persistent rumors, during a speech at the New York Times DealBook Online Summit, which some observers have labeled as “strange.”
He told host Andrew Ross Sorkin: “Apparently, we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what”?
Kate Mansey, the Times royal editor, and Roya Nikkah, the Sunday Times royal editor, spoke about Harry’s decision to address the rumors in public on the podcast The Royals.
Kate Mansey found it peculiar, stating: “I think it’s interesting that he’s addressing those rumours publicly, it seems like quite a strange thing to do. Many of the things written about him, and he has always been, are causing him to shiver.
She questioned Harry’s strategy’s viability, suggesting that accepting the rumors might unintentionally advance the narrative.
Harry also appeared to end speculation about a potential return to the UK, saying, “I very much enjoy living here and raising my kids here. I never imagined living it out. It’s a way of life.
Harry also revealed details of his daily life in the US, thanking the country for its lifestyle. He added: “I feel as though it’s the life that my mum wanted for me. It’s incredible to be able to do things with my kids that I undoubtedly wouldn’t be able to in the UK. I’m very appreciative of that opportunity.
According to The Express, these revelatory remarks come after he and the Duchess of Sussex resigned as high ranking royals and moved to the state to raise their children, Archie and Lilibet, in January 2020. At the glittering event in New York, the Duke was spotted rubbing shoulders with tennis legend Serena Williams and billionaire Jeff Bezos.
