Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new family photo has a special detail that has left them teary-eyed.
It is not often that royal fans get a glimpse of the two Sussex children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, three. Nothing is more important to Meghan and Harry than making sure their two children have a normal childhood away from the royal spotlight.
Royal fans are occasionally given a glimpse into how the two youngster boys, who are sixth and seventh in the succession, are faring, though. Harry and Meghan occasionally speak about their children while attending events or engagements, giving their fans a much-appreciated update along the way.
A seriously adorable image of the two children embracing their parents was included on the couple’s 2024 Christmas card. Eagle-eyed royal fans spotted a significant feature in the festive card that shows Archie and Lilibet have inherited one trait from their late grandmother, Princess Diana, even though neither of the children’s faces are visible in the photo — Meghan and Harry are facing the camera as the children approach them.
Their red hair appears to have been a hallmark of the two Sussex children, and it seems like they have a strong inheritance. Princess Diana’s red hair was wavy in her early years, and it resembles Lilibet’s. Harry is known for being a redhead, but she did.
The ginger locks have undoubtedly been passed down to Harry’s children, much to the delight of the late Diana’s fans, despite Diana opting for blonde highlights when she became an adult.
One fan wrote on social media that Meghan’s ginger children and husband outnumber her. Princess Diana’s genes don’t play”!
Another posted saying, “Prince Harry and his family are looking more like Spencer’s every time we see them. A loyal son deserves to carry my genes, and Princess Diana hasn’t let her down.
A third fan wrote: “I cannot get over how beautiful Prince Archie &, Princess Lilibet are &, look at those Spencer ginger genes!! Oh my world! Their grandmother, Princess Diana, would have been “over the moon watching them” and “probably is” watching over them.
Harry himself has noted that Lilibet, in particular, looks a lot like his late mother, and how pleased he was that her Spencer genes had been passed onto his kids. In the Netflix series he and Meghan created about their love story, Harry said, “I think I see a lot of my wife in Archie and my mom in Lilibet.” “She’s very Spencer-like”, the Duke said, adding Lilibet boasts “the same blue eyes” as Diana, and a “sort of like a golden, red-ish hair”.
When appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Harry noted again that he sees his mother in his daughter, joking that the “ginger gene is a strong one” and “The Spencer gene is very, very strong”.
“I actually really genuinely thought at the beginning of my relationship that, should this go the distance and we have kids, that there’s no way the ginger gene will stand up to my wife’s genes…But, I was wrong”, Harry admitted.
