When masked raiders targeted their Essex mansion, expecting women Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright were forced to confine themselves inside their bedrooms.
Before their alarm system went off at their lavish pad on Tuesday evening, the 37-year-old Brassic star and her husband, a reality TV star, are said to have heard their porch window smash. Four suspects reportedly spent close to a minute inside the home before ejecting when they heard Mark yelling.
Authorities were then alerted via the couple’s security system. The couple were relieved for their safety and that nothing had been stolen from their £3.5 million home, but they were reportedly “very shaken up” by the incident, which saw the suspects flee in a getaway car.
A spokesman for Essex Police said yesterday that the burglary investigation was advancing. He explained: “It was reported four suspects had forced entry to an address, carrying out a search of the property before fleeing. Within eight minutes, our officers were on the scene. We are still conducting high-visibility patrols in the area and are continuing to support and protect the victims.
” We are exploring a number of lines of inquiry including but not limited to forensic opportunities, CCTV and witness statements. Anyone with information should get in touch with us as soon as possible. “The Mirror have reached out to their representatives and the police in Essex for comment.”
A source told The Sun about the raid, saying that “both of them were relieved that neither of them were hurt. ” Mark followed his wife’s advice and waited for the police to arrive before leaving the room.
They added the couple were” very shaken up “by what went down. The source continued, “Mark acted quickly” when he became aware of what was happening. Thankfully, their alarm system alerted the couple as well as the police, who arrived quickly.
After the couple bought the lavish pad in recent years, they have updated fans about their home renovations on an Instagram page. Most recently, the couple’s home Instagram account – which boasts almost 700, 000 followers, gave a peek into the” mind blowing “transformation of their spiral staircase.
They also previously shared updates on their garden renovations, swimming pool addition, driveway changes and more. The former Coronation Street star has been enjoying her private life for the past few months, having revealed that she was expecting her first child with husband Mark at the end of December.
Michelle and Mark tied the knot in 2015, and the actress acknowledged that her desire for privacy was fueled by speculation about their early marriage endings.
