Pregnant Kelsey Parker flooded with support as Tom’s The Wanted bandmates say ‘you deserve this’

After revealing that she is pregnant, Kelly Parker has received a flurry of support from her close family and her late husband’s bandmates.

The 33-year-old exclusively revealed to The Mirror and OK! three years after her husband Tom Parker’s tragic passing, she announced in a magazine that she is expecting her first child with her boyfriend Will Lindsay. Kelsey was left a solo mum to their two children, Aurelia, now five, and Bodhi, four, after Tom died of brain cancer at 33.

Kelsey explained that she believed Tom had given them his “blessing” and that she wanted more children to have children with him when she broke the news. “Tom and I always said we wanted four – but life had other plans”, Kelsey says. “So yes, this is amazing but also bittersweet. The joys of finding out I’m pregnant and moving forward with my life, while thinking, ‘ My life could have been so different. ‘ I’ve experienced every emotion possible. I’m still getting my head around it but I’m so excited. And I know I’m putting myself out there, telling people. Simply put, I want everyone to experience the same happiness.

And she’s been sent a wave of support from her celebrity friends – among them, Tom’s The Wanted bandmate Siva Kaneswaran, who wrote: “You deserve all the happiness in the world. Congratulations to you two, xx. While Helen Flanagan commented: “Congratulations darling so happy for you xxx”.

Love Island’s Cara De La Hoyde celebrated: “The news is out. congratulations my favourites”. Kate Ferdinand gushed: “Oh how special. So happy for you! Congratulations”. Love Island’s Faye Winter commented: “Oh my god congratulations!! Now that you are walking this carpet, it seems even more special! I adore you and your family so much.

Having previously admitted how lonely she was, Kelsey found love again last year quite by chance, meeting Kent-born Will, 27, on a night out and going public with their romance last September. Kelly, who is due in June, described her third pregnancy as a “happy accident” and opened up when she and her partner discovered a positive result on a pregnancy test. “It was October 21st, the day after Will’s birthday. He and Bodhi have a birthday together. I was shocked but so happy. Will cried out “his eyes”!

Tree surgeon Will couldn’t be more chuffed. “I’m over the moon”, he said. I’ve wanted this for a while, I tell myself. I’m relieved, and I’m confident that Kelsey will continue to be a fantastic mother like she is. Kelly’s symptoms were “very sick” during her first trimester, but she kept them a secret because only she and Will, her children, and their respective families knew what Kelly was going to experience.

She said it was a very emotional moment when she told her late husband Tom’s family. “Tom’s mum Noreen gave me her blessing instantly. She can’t wait to have another grandchild. I’m only concerned with Tom’s family’s happiness and our families’. The most amazing woman is Noreen. After Tom passed, she said to me, ‘ As long as you’re happy Kels, whatever you do, we will always support you and be happy for you. ‘ We’ve all been through so much together. However, I’m present to welcome a second child into the world.

Breaking the news to the children, she says, was a special moment. “We filmed it to keep. They were so happy. I think they’ll be amazing big siblings. Bodhi’s always been the baby though, so that might be hard for him at the start”. And according to Kelsey, Aurelia appeared to be aware of what was happening before the news was made public.

“I feel like Aurelia’s been in this world before. She approached me eight weeks pregnant and began talking to the baby inside my stomach. Will and I exchanged disbelief as we both stared at one another. If the baby is a boy, she claims she wants it to be called Parker. They had been talking about wanting a brother or sister for a while. When Will came along, they were like, ‘ Can you have a baby now? ‘ They’re so funny”.
