Police Nab Transborder Arms Dealers, Recover 17 Guns
Five suspects allegedly involved in transnational gun-running have been detained by the Nigeria Police on Friday, according to its operatives.
Disclosing this in a statement, Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, identified the suspects as Adamu Noma, Matthew Audu, Andrew Poyi, Aminu Sani, and Aminu Talha, all male.
He claimed that on November 18, 2024, the Force Investigative Department Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) members apprehended them.

The NPF continues to work tirelessly to prevent and combat all forms of crime and criminality, according to the statement, which includes its unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
The Force successfully detained five suspects connected to trans-border gunrunning, according to the Force, who makes these unwavering efforts pay off.
Adejobi stated that upon arrest and conduct of a search, 10 locally fabricated Ak-47 rifles, five Israeli Ak-47 rifles, one revolver pistol, one pump action rifle, 20 rounds of Ak-47 ammunition, and one welding machine for fabrication of rifles were recovered from the suspect.
These accomplishments, along with several others that have been documented by police officers nationwide, demonstrate the steadfastness and commitment of the current police leadership to stop criminal activity and insecurity in general.
