Police Arrest Couple For Sending Threat Messages In Anambra
Kingsley Okoye and Chidinma Okoye have been detained by the police in Anambra for allegedly sending threat messages and attempting to kidnap unsuspecting people.
Spokesman for the State Police Command, Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
He claimed the couple has a special interest in demanding ransom from the couple when they threaten to abduct them via text messages.
The statement read, “The Anambra State Police Command is aware and is currently looking into a related recent trending voice note about a security report about how a victim allegedly escaped being abducted by a security operative.”

The suspects were arrested on Friday by the joint security force, comprising the police and vigilante operatives acting on technology-driven information.
According to reports, they allegedly confessed to the crime and admitted to destroying some of the sim cards used to commit the crimes.
The Joint Security Force, which includes the Police and AVG, detained a couple in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State on Friday based on reports of text messages and voice notes received by unsuspecting citizens of the public regarding threats of abduction and kidnapping.
The couple has a reputation for demanding ransom from people, as opposed to being kidnapped or killed. They all admitted to the crime and had already destroyed some of the sim cards used to commit the crimes, according to Ikenga.
On his part, the state Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam, has directed the immediate transfer of the case to the anti-kidnapping/robbery squad of the command for comprehensive investigations.
