Police Arraign Suspended Ogun Traditional Ruler For Assault
Oba Abdulsemiu Ogunjobi, the Ifo Magistrate Court’s suspended traditional ruler, has been detained.
Adewale, who was arraigned by the Nigeria Police Force on Tuesday, faces a three-count charge of conspiracy, assault and conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace.
Following his suspension by the Ogun State Government for allegedly being obedient, this is a sequel.

The arraignment followed a viral video depicting the monarch allegedly assaulting, verbally abusing, and even threatening to kill an elderly man, Mr. Areola Abraham.
He has, however, been admitted to bail while the case has been adjourned to March 6 for further hearing.
Ogunjobi’s verbal and physical assault on one of his chiefs, Arinola Abraham, sparked outrage after a viral video was posted.
In the two-minute clip, Arinola was seen kneeling on the road while a man, said to be Ogunjobi, cursed him and his family while accusing him of conspiracy.
The monarch, reportedly a retired police officer, also boasted of his influence over law enforcement agencies, threatening to jail the chief.
Ogunjobi was previously suspended for six months by the Ogun State for what it referred to as “uncivil conduct.”
According to the state’s Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ganiu Hazmat, Ogunjobi’s conduct was not befitting the status of a traditional ruler.
The government’s decision, according to the commissioner, was intended to safeguard the revered traditional institution’s sanctity and the dignity of people.
He claimed that the traditional ruler and his victim were interrogated at the ministry after being asked to make the decision.
“After the investigation conducted on the matter, Oba Ogunjobi has been suspended. He has been removed from the Olorile of Orile-Ifo paraphernalia until his guilt or otherwise is established, according to Hamzat.
The Ministry and the Egba Traditional Council came to a decision, according to the Commissioner.
