Peter Andre details emotional reunion with mum, 87, in Australia amid health struggle

Last year Peter Andre told of his mum Thea’s health battle, announcing sadly that she had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. And he stated to readers of his column earlier this year, “I am seeing the rapid decline, especially in Mum,” while thanking my parents for their continued presence. That aspect is difficult for me to handle. Like most people, I’m so close to my parents that accepting them is really challenging.
The devoted son discusses an upcoming emotional reunion with his mother in his weekly OK column this week. “I am going to Australia very, very soon to see my mum and dad”, he says. “I’m going with my brother Michael, just the two of us and we’re going to spend some real quality time with my mum, dad and sister. I need to spend time with my mum, which is going to be emotional. We just need to hope and pray that she is alright when it comes to her health. This time with her will mean a lot.

In spite of her declining health, Pete’s 87-year-old mother and his father Savvas live in Australia. Just recently, he marked their 69th anniversary and paid tribute to them by expressing his gratitude for their constant struggle to see their parents age or become ill.
In January 2023, he jetted off to Australia to visit his mum and dad with Emily, and Pete’s kids with Katie Price, Junior, 18 and Princess, 16, went along for the trip. Being with his parents “meant the world,” he said, and he said it was “cruel” to observe the conditions unfold.
Pete responded to a few fans’ positive comments after posting pictures of his vacation on Instagram. He said: “We worry every single day as it takes hold. Every moment will be treasured by me. In another reply, Pete explained: “It’s so cruel seeing it take hold”.

The singer explained to his mother that he and Emily were expecting a child after learning about the pregnancy in December. In case something goes wrong with Emily’s pregnancy, he said his mother’s health struggles have been “very difficult” in recent years.
Speaking to OK!, he said: “I didn’t want to risk later having to break bad news. If something went wrong, Heaven forbid, it would have seriously hurt my mama. It’s difficult to suddenly see her become less strong because she’s always been so strong as a person. But she’s so excited and keeps asking about the bump all day.
