Despite wanting to keep his family of four, Peter Andre has admitted to being reluctant to accept the snip.
The I’m a Celebrity star already shares 10-year-old Amelia, eight-year-old Theo, and ten-month-old Arabella with his wife Emily MacDonagh, who works as a doctor. He and Katie Price also have two kids from their previous marriage – Junior, 19, and Princess, 17.
Peter, 51, spoke on the Netmums podcast about considering getting a vasectomy, but said he couldn’t follow through when he heard more about the actual procedure.
He explained: “‘ I then went and started asking people who’ve had it done, and they were like, ‘ It’s horrific. It’s this, it’s that”.
Peter jokingly added his fear of his voice changing, saying: “I literally thought that if you get it done, you start talking like this …” changing his voice to be more squeaky.
Summarising whether or not he’d take the plunge, he admitted: “Probably not now. Look, I’m not gonna lie, I’ve completely bottled it. It’s freaked me out. Then again, if it means that she doesn’t have to do anything to prevent it, I will do it”.
The singer once more admitted that he wouldn’t be running to the hospital despite Peter’s desire to carry out the procedure for Emily. However, I need to man up because it will require some guts. I need to actually just go, you know what? Move past it and carry it. But I’m just struggling a bit at the moment with the thought”, he said.
Peter also appeared on Loose Women this week to discuss how his current family structure isn’t working as he’d hoped, talking about the ins and outs of his long-term contraceptive plans.
As a father to a baby who was born in April of this year, Peter once said he had never wanted to be a new father. However, as a result, he quickly learned to love his family and his daughter more than ever.
“It is interesting. I was always like: ‘ Never am I having kids when I get to 50, that’s it, ‘ and I said it would all have to happen before. Here I am at 51 doing exactly what I said wasn’t going to happen.
“I spent a lot of time bonding this time, so it’s actually been a real moment for me.” I said to my manager, I’ve been with her 30 years, I just want six months to really bond. “
The star gushed:” ‘ And those six months were incredible. I regret in some ways how much I gave to the others when I was younger, but perhaps it had to go backwards to get to this point. I feel really good. “
