On Saturday, Holly Ramsay and Adam Peaty tied the knot at Bath Abbey, a stunning wedding attended by about 200 guests, but few of whom were Olympians.
Fans have forgotten how Holly Ramsay and Adam Peaty met amid the wedding row, a source close to the couple has stressed.
Holly was introduced to Adam, whom she married at Bath Abbey on Saturday in front of 200 guests, by her younger sister, Tilly, when Tilly and the Olympian swimmer were both on Strictly Come Dancing in 2021. After the Strictly live shows on Saturday nights, there would reportedly be “mingling” between the contestants and their families — and that’s where Adam and Holly are understood to have first laid eyes on one another.
But this sweet — albeit unusual — romance story is said to have been overshadowed by the recent row around the wedding. Most of Adam’s family, including mum Caroline, were banned from the ceremony on Saturday amid the feud.

However, Adam, 31, was with Eirianedd Munro at the time. The couple had, by then, baby son George, who turned five in September. When Adam and Eiri split shortly after the BBC programme finished, rumours about the Strictly curse circulated — but it was actually Holly who caught his eye.
You have to wonder if things weren’t going the best way between Adam and Eiri at the time. After meeting Holly, he abruptly split from Eiri. Adam and Holly started dating shortly after that.
Following the wedding, a source said Eiri believes George is “lucky to have a stepmum like Holly”. Yet, had it not been for Strictly, it seemed unlikely that Holly — who was then carving a career for herself as an influencer — would ever meet the Olympic swimmer.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the insider added: “You have to wonder if things weren’t going the best way between Adam and Eiri at the time. After meeting Holly, he abruptly split from Eiri. Adam and Holly started dating shortly after that.”
Dad-of-one Adam, though, made no mention of Holly, now 25, in his Instagram statement back in August 2022 when he announced the sad news that he and Eiri had gone their separate ways.
