In behind-the-scenes footage that was released in a tribute this week, the late Paul Danan was spotted dancing alongside co-stars.
The tribute was made after Paul’s passing on Thursday, at the age of 46, was revealed. The actor, who rose to fame on Hollyoaks on Channel 4 in the 1990s and later appeared on ITV’s Love Island’s first season in 2005, received a lot of tributes as a result of the news.
Paige Turley, 27, who is renowned for winning the sixth season of the resurrected Love Island in 2020, was one of the people who took to the news. When they both made an appearance on the seventh season of the 2022 reality TV show Celebrity Coach Trip, she became acquainted with Paul.
Paige recorded Paul dancing in the coach’s aisle after learning about his passing. He and other co-stars were singing along to Stevie Wonder’s song Master Blaster (Jammin’) while the clip showed him and other people enjoying themselves.
In the video, former Geordie Shore cast member Sophie Kasaei, 35, can be seen seated. Whilst Loose Women’s Linda Robson, 66, and her Birds of a Feather co-star Lesley Joseph, 79, were visible in their seats, which were further towards the back of the coach.
Over the top of the behind-the-scenes footage, Paige included a photo of herself and Paul from the trip. She paid tribute in the accompanying caption, writing: “Such sad news about Paul. A kind soul with a big heart. Rest easy”.
Paul had been paired up with Olympic Judo competitor Ashley McKenzie, 35, on the show, which saw the celebrity passengers tour Portugal. They were joined by tour guide Brendan Sheerin, 65, who fronts the E4 travel show.
Paige joined the coach with Finley Tapp, 25, who was her partner at the time. They had previously jointly won the sixth season of Love Island, which was broadcast in 2020, but they failed to do so in Celebrity Coach Trip.
Linda and Leslie, the two women’s friends, won the show in the end that year. Former Gogglebox champion Tom Malone Jr., Honeyz member Celena Cherry, and upcoming Big Brother host Will Best were among the other famous people visiting the country.
