Patsy Kensit says she’s given up trying to find a man in heartbreaking admission
In a heartbreaking admission as she celebrated being single, Patsy Kensit has admitted she has given up trying to find a man.
Following a number of arguments, the 56-year-old actress called off her fiery engagement to property tycoon Patric Cassidy earlier this year and has already walked down the aisle four times. Patsy confessed she “believes in love”, but after a string of failed relationships, she’s ready to embrace singlehood and take a break from dating for a while.
Patsy was first married in 1988 to Dan Donovan, but the couple split in 1991. She and Simple Minds frontman Jim Kerr married in 1992, and they welcomed their son James a year later. They divorced in 1996. Her most famous marriage was to Liam Gallagher, and Patsy tied the knot with the Oasis singer in 1997, and they welcomed a son, Lennon, in 1999. But one year later they divorced, after their marriage was rocked by claims of Liam’s infidelity.
Patsy then wed DJ Jeremy Healy in 2009, but they split ten months later. Since then, the former EastEnders actress has vowed never to wed again until she met property magnate Patric Cassidy. He popped the question during a romantic dinner at celebrity haunt Scott’s in Mayfair, but just months later, they had split.
Now, she’s ready to be single and “adjust” her life to make herself happy. “I wouldn’t want a relationship, I am not interested. I do believe in love”, she told Hello! magazine. “I’ve been on my own for a while, and I like my own company,” says the woman who said, “but for me, that’s not something I need.” Now, it’s just adjusting my life to fill the hole that’s in my soul”.
She also discussed the agonizing demise of her 2021 skincare brand, Preciously Perfect, and forced the sale of her home. Patsy dismissed reports she was wealthy because of her “past marriages”, and said she had to “start again” after the brand went bust overnight. “I’ve always owned houses, but I had to sell it and start over.” It was brutal, particularly because I have worked so hard and then suddenly I was like: ‘ Who am I? ‘” she shared.
She told The Mirror earlier this year that she had no intention of speaking to any of her ex-husbands, but that she was supportive of her two sons, James and Lennon, who had a positive relationship with their fathers. She said, “My goals have always been to have my sons have a really good relationship with their fathers.” “For me. I haven’t spoken or had contact with those men. I support their fathers very much, but I don’t have one. I like it that way”.
Patsy didn’t comment on her break-up with property tycoon Patric, and when news of their engagement ending began to emerge, her spokesperson confirmed the split with a brief statement. “I can confirm that they have split, and I respect that she has her own space to discuss this.” She is currently very busy working”, they told The Sun over the summer.
