Patriots appoint Vrabel as new head coach
Mike Vrabel has been named as the team’s new head coach.
Vrabel, a Patriots Hall of Famer, replaces Jerod Mayo, who was sacked by the franchise after just one season in charge.
Vrabel played for the Patriots between 2001 and 2008 and won three Super Bowl titles as a linebacker.
Before being fired a year ago, he spent six seasons coaching the Tennessee Titans.
“He’s back! Mike Vrabel, the Patriots’ 16th head coach, will make his return to New England, according to the Patriots.
Up until December 30th, Vrabel’s contract expired, serving as a Cleveland Browns coaching and personnel consultant.
