One Person Dead, Five Injured In Lagos/Ibadan Expressway Accident

In a Saturday accident on the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, one person has been reported dead, and five others have been injured in various ways.

The Ogun State Police Command confirmed this in a statement issued in Abeokuta, the state capital, on Sunday by its Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola.

Initial investigations revealed, in her opinion, that the Toyota Sienna car’s driver had lost control of the steering and crashed into the container truck’s rear.

“The impact led to the tragic death of a passenger, Ms. In the front was Miracle Ultima International Ltd.’s Miraculle Chibuzor.

Five other occupants sustained varying degrees of injuries and were promptly transported by motor traffic police to Famobis Hospital, Lotto, Mowe, for medical treatment”, she said

According to reports, medical professionals said the deceased’s body had been taken to Idera Morgue for an autopsy and official death certification.

“Meanwhile, traffic police came to the scene to ease the traffic and stop onlookers from injuring others. Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO) towed the wreckage of the vehicles involved in the accident to the Sagamu Police Station for safekeeping and inspection.

According to the statement, “It has been observed that drivers rush to complete a circle of financial returns for the day while driving recklessly abandoning their passengers.”
