NSCDC Arrests Eight Suspects With Stolen Crude In Rivers
Eight suspects have been detained by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly defrauding the state’s public infrastructure in Rivers State through illegal activities in petroleum products.
Joachim Okafor, the NSCDC commander in Rivers State, made this disclosure while speaking with reporters on Saturday at his Port Harcourt office.
He claimed that the suspects detained in various parts of the state were bringing metals and vandalized concrete rods used in manhole and hedge beams that had been detained from public facilities that had been illegally refined.

According to Okafor, the Command’s Anti-Vandal Unit and Tactical Team searched five vehicles, including three trucks used to transport stolen crude and vandalized metals.
He noted that the Command is currently questioning the suspects to find out who they are and adding that its strategy has taken on economic sabotage and the vandalization of crucial national assets and infrastructure has taken a new form.
“At the end of investigation, all suspects found wanting will be charged to court and prosecuted accordingly,” Okafor said.
Our eagle-eye agents will undoubtedly fish them out, but we also advise potential vandals to reevaluate and steer clear of sabotaging crucial national assets and infrastructure.
