We welcome a return to the cherished jean patterns from the past with each new year. In 2024, we saw wide leg and flares surge in popularity, with the end of the year seeing the return of 70s and 80s icon, the barrel leg. These flattering, “horseshoe” style pants are here to stay in 2025, and we’re totally on board for it, whether you love them or hate them.

We’re not the only ones as, alongside celebs like Binky Felstead, Gigi Hadid and Blake Lively, some of our favourite high street shops are celebrating this style with a plethora of colours and bottom-heavy cuts, including Nobody’s Child. The store adored by celebrities like Louise Thompson has you covered whether you prefer a smooth, crisp white color or a blue jean girl in all your washes.

Nobody’s Child, which costs £75, has also restocked its popular mid-wash high rise barrel leg jeans, which ooze vintage chic and have a loose-fitting “mom jean” vibe about them, as well as introducing a few other colors and lengths.

Sizes 4 to 18 are currently available in the High Rise Barrel Leg Jeans, which are light wash, washed in black, and white. The jeans have a subtle curved barrel leg silhouette that cinches in the waist thanks to its high-rise button fastening and claim to have “the most flattering fit.”

As a lover of this style, I can attest that these jeans are ideal for those with more curvaceous thighs because they glide over your legs without making you uncomfortable while seated. You can be certain of soft fabric that feels good on the skin because it is also made of 100% cotton.

While this cut from Nobody’s Child grazes the ankles (measuring at 29 and 31 inches in length), these aren’t the only barrel jeans the brand has available. The light-washed denim horseshoe barrel jeans, which are a great, more affordable alternative to Free People’s gorgeous We The Free Good Luck Mid-Rise Barrel Jeans, cost £98.

To give a relaxed fit and a fitted high rise that nips in at the waist, these slightly baggier horseshoe-style jeans feature the traditional barrel-design feature of a dart at the knee. Additionally, these jeans come in 29 and 31 inches, respectively.

All jeans come complete with pockets, three at the front and two at the back, one of which is embroidered with the brand’s iconic NC logo in yellow, a cute little touch.

Fans of the brand are bound to adore the new-in jeans, according to experts. The barrel jeans were chosen by customers as a standout addition after they posted a video on Instagram highlighting its new washes and “trending shapes” with the caption “A moment for the jeans: trending shapes and new washes are here.”

One commented: “The barrel Jeans”, followed by emojis with heart eyes. Another person just said it with love.

Although there aren’t yet any reviews for the jeans, which highlights their effortless glamour and quality, styling the trousers may not be simple because of their rather unusual shape. For a more casual feel, we suggested belting the jeans and roughly tucking in your favorite tee or jumper with some ballet pumps or trainers.

Of course, with barrel jeans being a popular trend in 2025, Nobody’s Child isn’t the only place to get your hands on a pair. At Next, you can pick up a pair of dark blue Dart Detail Barrel 100% Cotton Jeans for £45, as is the case with River Island’s mid-wash blue denim seamed jeans.

Meanwhile, Abercrombie &amp, Fitch’s design are on sale for £56.25 in the medium blue shade, with other options like leopard print, grey, white and black versions available. M&amp, S is also on the bandwagon, with Sienna Miller’s collection including a popular style in ivory and black for £49.50.
