Senator Uba Sani has received praise from the leadership of the Kaduna State’s Nigeria Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress (TUC), and Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) for releasing N3.1 billion to pay the gratuity of retired civil servants and death benefits to the families of deceased beneficiaries under the defined benefit scheme and contributory pension scheme.
The labor unions expressed their gratitude to Governor Sani and the Kaduna State Government for promptly releasing funds to the pensioners despite the current state of the economy in separate letters that were signed by the NLC Chairman, Ayuba Suleiman, TUC Head, and NUP.
Additionally, as Day Two of the Strike begins, NLC pickets banks, courts, and government buildings.
The pensioners’ gratuities will be paid as an immediate intervention, according to the unions, which will lessen the suffering of both retirees and the families of their deceased Kaduna State Civil Service colleagues.
