Nine uncapped players named in Scotland’s Six Nations training squad

New head coach Sione Fukofuka has named nine uncapped players in Scotland’s Women’s Six Nations training squad.

In the forwards, Holland Bogan, Emily Coubrough, Poppy Fletcher, Aila Ronald, Imogen Spence and Aicha Sutcliffe will bid for their first senior international appearances, as will backs Ceitidh Ainsworth, Rianna Darroch and Hannah Walker.

Wing Shona Campbell and lock Louise McMillan return after last being involved in 2024 while fly-half Meryl Smith is back in the national squad following an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Injuries mean Sarah Bonar and Lisa Thomson are not yet available for selection while 24 players who were involved in Scotland’s run to the World Cup quarter-finals last year retain their place.

Scotland open in Wales on 11 April, which will be Fukofuka’s first match in charge, and host defending champions England the following Saturday. The Scots then travel to take on Italy on 25 April.
