Despite a recent incident involving an aircraft at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority on Wednesday assured Nigerians that the country’s airspace is secure.

NCAA Acting Director-General, Captain Chris Najomo, gave the assurance during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

“The Nigerian airspace is very safe, I can assure you”, he said during the programme.

Late on Tuesday night, the Max plane made an abrupt landing at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.

Around 10:57 p.m., the aircraft’s nose landing gear tyre lost during the landing process after coming from Lagos.

No fatalities were reported.

Late on Tuesday night, Max Air’s management officially confirmed that one of its aircraft slammed into the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.

In a statement released on Wednesday on its official X page, Max Air said, “We wish to inform the public that one of our aircraft experienced an incident upon landing in Kano yesterday.”
