Nigerian Leaders Must Develop 50-Year Development Plan – Faseru

Femi Faseru, a televangelist, urges Nigerian leaders to create a comprehensive development plan over the next 50 years.

Faseru, the Resident Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre in Lagos, cited the absence of vision as one of the reasons for Nigeria’s hydra-headed developmental challenges.

“We have a leadership problem, we have leaders ‘ problem, we’ve definitely had followership problem and we also have a management problem”, the preacher said on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief programme on Monday.

Adeyemi also claims that Tinubu should provide young people with pictures of Nigeria in 30 years.

Faseru claimed that because politicians and those in government offices only try to emulate the nation’s nearly-expired vision, they have failed to create a lasting vision for the country.

Without vision, according to the preacher, leaders can’t command followers’ loyalty and respect.

He said, “We cannot leave out the lack of clear vision and when I talk about vision, I’m not talking about four-year vision. If you ask anyone around and ask them, “Where do you believe our leaders want Nigeria to be in 20 years?” Not many people will be able to express that in an effective way.

“Government leaders make promises to accomplish nothing in four years, which is impossible.” We aren’t serious about what we want to do if you have a four-year vision for a nation like ours based on the setbacks we have encountered over the years.

“So, there should be a 20-year plan, there should be a 25-year plan, there should be a 50-year plan for a country like ours. Put together, all of those things create the challenge we face today.
