Nigeria Lost Over ₦67bn Property, 100 Lives To Fire In 2024 — FFS

N67 in estimated property loss has been made public by the Federal Fire Service (FFS). 1 billion, and was recorded in 2024 as a result of fire outbreaks.

Jaji, who claimed that low humidity levels could cause fire outbreaks, urged all gas station operators, gas tankers, gas refilling stations, consumers, and the general public to adhere to safety standards and rules, warned that the number of cases could rise during the harmattan season.

The Service would continue to advance its objectives this year through effective operations, operational efficiency, and proactive actions, according to the controller general.

“We will also focus on raising awareness, and improving response time using cutting-edge technologies such as the National Fire Detection and Alarm System (NAFDAS), Fire Alarm App known as N-Alert,” he added.
