Niger Tanker Fire: Governors Call For Stricter Enforcement Of Safety Measures
The Dikko/Kaduna Road incident occurred along the Dikko/Kaduna Road in Niger State, and the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has expressed condolences to the families of the victims of the tanker explosion.
During the incident, which has caused the nation to be in mourning, 77 people died and scores of others were hurt.
In a statement, the chairman of the Forum, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, extended the heartfelt condolences of the NGF to the government and people of
Families in the Niger State as well as those who have lost unimaginable loved ones.
“The entire country is in mourning as a result of this heartbreaking incident.”
We extend our deepest sympathies to the Niger State government, the populace, and the families who have endured unimaginable loss as a result of this tragedy,” the statement continued.

The governors also demanded more strict safety regulations for handling combustible materials in addition to condolences.
The most recent incident was cited by the NGF as a clear reminder of how urgently necessary it is to strengthen the country’s regulatory frameworks to stop such occurrences.
