DIY SOS star Nick Knowles ‘ fiancée Katie Dadzie, 34, has opened up about how she got the bravery to pose for her lingerie brand.

The businesswoman met Nick, 62, in 2021 after their young children became friends. Katie went on to launch her lingerie brand, Boa Boa, the following year, and the couple got engaged in 2023. Katie said she initially disliked modeling her pieces, but her BBC host partner urged her to stand up for her company.

Katie responded, “Nick said he thought I should do it to represent the brand and the ethos that we have of loving the skin you’re in and being comfortable with yourself.” The mother-of-two explained to the Daily Mail that Nick had reminded her to set an example of self acceptance, but added that she “doesn’t love the skin she’s in.”

“It was absolutely horrifying for me to face the camera for the first time.” Katie admitted that she was terrified and was cacking her pants when a larger model approached her to show her courage and remove her dressing gown during her first lingerie shoot.

“I’ve gotten a little better at trying to be a little more real, as in, I’ve put on weight recently so I can’t just get a better picture of me when I haven’t eaten in the morning.”

” I’ve got horrendous endometriosis, so I do bloat terribly but that’s the company ethos that it’s underwear that’s made to fit you regardless of your size, “she added.

Nick has been busy with physio and rehab while Katie is concentrating on her own business after undergoing grueling operations before Christmas.

This year, Nick had to resign from one of his live performances after suffering a severe knee injury during rehearsals for Strictly Come Dancing. He later admitted he “played down” “his injuries” before being chosen as the third celebrity to leave the show. Nick’s injuries were reportedly caused by Luba Mushtuk’s partner, who reportedly saw the star land badly after a jump, causing him to torn his anterior cruciate ligament. The TV host suffered a shoulder and arm injury while changing a car tire, which came just weeks later.

Nick and Katie are getting married this year, and one of his main goals is to dance at the wedding, Nick said. We’ve scheduled our wedding for the summer, and the plan is to have a “he shared” first dance. Although it won’t be a full Strictly routine, I’m determined to do a special dance with Katie.

However, Nick recently told the Mirror that he still had a long road ahead of him:” I’m still recovering. It’s gonna be about eight months before it’s like fully 100% again, so, I think I’ll go back to doing less dangerous things after that – like climbing mountains and riding motorbikes! “

Talking at the Cirque du Soleil Corteo opening night, he continued:” It’s really weird. I played rugby for 40 years, and I was unharmed. I’ve done all kinds of weird things like, you know, riding motorbikes in the desert and all kinds of activities. So, that’s really why I had the operations, because, even at my age, I want to get back to the point where I can carry on doing all the adventurous stuff that I’ve done before. “
