George Clooney, a famous actor, is grieving the passing of his 65-year-old older sister Adelia “Ada” Zeidler, who passed away on Friday after battling cancer.

Ada, George Clooney’s sister, has passed away, at the age of 65, according to George Clooney, who has been fighting cancer.. The Hollywood star, 64, paid tribute to his “hero” sibling, Adelia Zeidler, known as Ada, saying both he and wife Amal would ‘miss her terribly’.

Praising his sister for “facing cancer with courage and humour”, George told People magazine: “My sister, Ada, was my hero. She faced down cancer with courage and humour. I’ve never met anyone so brave. Amal and I will miss her terribly.” Ada’s official biography says she died “peacefully” on Friday while “surrounded by the people she loved” at St Elizabeth healthcare in Kentucky, US.

Her obituary reads, “[Ada] leaves behind her beloved children, Nick Zeidler and Allison Zeidler Herolaga and her husband, Kenny, her brother, George Clooney and his wife Amal, and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

The mother-of-two, who was given the name “talented artist,” used her talents as an art teacher at Augusta Independent School in her hometown of August, Kentucky, according to her obituary.

She was also a member of the Augusta Art Guild and was a past grand marshal of Augusta’s Annual White Christmas Parade.”

Ada lived her life in isolation from her younger brother, which she did not. She supported George over the years, including attending his lavish wedding to wife Amal in Venice in 2014, despite leading a very private life.

As they traveled along a canal in the Italian city, surrounded by famous faces who had been invited to the nuptials, Ada was papped while she was standing next to the ER star on a boat.

In Kentucky, the siblings were raised together. My sister, I’m very close to, George said to CBS This Morning in 2015.

The two-time Academy Award winner, who delivered a speech for the Workhuman convention at the Gaylord Opryland Resort &amp, Convention Center in Nashville in March 2019, reportedly looked back on touching memories with Ada from their early lives.

The actor recalled that on Christmas morning, when we awoke, we would drive an hour and a half to some people’s homes and spend the morning with them, bringing presents.

Australia beat England to win third Test and retain Ashes

With two games left before the final Ashes Test, Australia won by 82 runs to retain the urn and retaliate against England for another unsuccessful campaign.

England battled valiantly on day five to win the world record 435 runs, but only 352 were lost as a result. Left-armed quick Mitch Starc took three wickets for the hosts before Scott Boland took the final wicket before tea.

Australia captain Pat Cummins, who took six wickets on his return from a back injury, said, “Three-nil is hugely satisfying for many reasons, but particularly with how the conversation was how equally poised it was going to be.

“This group is amazing at just cracking on.”

The age profile of the Australia squad had been the subject of much discussion in the lead-up to the Ashes, but Starc claimed that the veterans had demonstrated their worth.

The 35-year-old said, “We do laugh at some of the comments that come back to us about how old we are.”

“I’m confident that experience helps you go through your highs and lows. … that is a significant component of all of this.

England have lost their third straight defeat on a four-game tour, losing 16 of their previous 18 Tests in the nation, and losing to Australia and Perth by eight wickets.

The most recent surrender may be the worst of the two previous tours due to pure disappointment.

Expectations included a real contest, fighting words from England captain Ben Stokes, and the hope that “Bazball” would take home the urn for the first time since 2010-2011.

All that was left out in Adelaide, where England abandoned their all-time aggression and switched to more conventional Test cricket while still being victorious.

We haven’t been able to accomplish our goal, which we have obviously intended to accomplish. England’s skipper Stokes gushed, “It hurts and it stinks.”

They have outperformed us on a much higher level. … I thought we did a fantastic job of staying in the lead in this fourth inning.

There was some positive stuff to come out of this game, even though we couldn’t do what we were supposed to.

Jamie Smith of England scored 60 in the final day of a series that was not enough to end the match.

Adelaide’s king was

England’s hopes were hinged on all-rounder Will Jacks and wicketkeeper Jamie Smith after they resumed with 207 for six while still needing 228 runs to win.

Jacks ran for 40 minutes before the rain stopped play after turning his ankle off his crease during a run.

England fans erupted, but the ground soon became a gloomy place with little sun as a result.

After cutting off a four in the field, the Surrey duo made a fifty-run partnership with the old ball and were soon spared spinner Nathan Lyon, who had a hamstring injury.

Smith slammed both Cummins and Starc for back-to-back fours as the second new ball arrived.

He hit a Starc delivery for a third time in a row and was caught by a back-pedalling Cummins midway through the deficit, which was reduced to 150 runs.

Tailender Carse finished 39 not out and hung tough with the all-rounder for 52 runs with Jacks’ steadier hand.

As the pair kept the deficit under 100 runs, home fans sat motionless in their seats, but Starc returned and Marnus Labuschagne sped away from the danger.

After taking Ollie Pope off the slips with a screamer on day four, Labuschagne dived to his left and drove at a Starc ball that moved away off the seam.

After Boland had Tongue, Jofra Archer attempted to slog Starc, but Jake Weatherald sent the ball down his throat at deep point, leaving England one wicket short.

Travis Head’s third-innings victory, his fourth consecutive Test win, earned Australia wicketkeeper Alex Carey the title of Man of the Match with 106 and 72 in the first innings, while Travis Carey earned the honour with 170.

Head, who also scored a match-winning 123 in Perth, said, “If he wasn’t before, he’s the king of Adelaide.”

He says, “He won’t have to pay for another beer [here]. It’s bloody good to watch, but I’m not sure how he does it.

Why is Afcon taking place in December?

Between December 21 and January 18th, 2026, Morocco will host the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).

To prevent scheduling conflicts with European clubs and competitions, the 2025 edition was originally intended to be a mid-year tournament.

Before Morocco co-hosts the 2030 World Cup with Spain and Portugal, the event was intended to boost tourism and highlight what Morocco has to offer.

However, it was moved to December to accommodate Fifa’s resumption of the summer’s Club World Cup.

The Champions League and Europa League, which kick off on January 20 and 22, respectively, will not be in conflict with the move to begin in December rather than January.

Afcon will be held in Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, Agadir, Tangier, and Fez for the first time this year.

On December 25, there won’t be any games.

On December 15, Afcon participants were freed from their clubs.

Due to this, teams only have a week to prepare before the tournament begins, which enrages coaches, who have been given so little time to prepare.

Patrice Beaumelle, the coach of Angola, called the situation “nonsense” and said it was impossible to “prepare a serious team in just two or three sessions.”

The 2019 edition, which was hosted by Egypt, was the last Afcon held in the summer.

What is the traditional wintertime Afcon?

Because of the variable climate of Africa, AFCON is typically held in the winter months, primarily in January and February.

In some countries, extreme heat and rainy seasons can come with extreme heat conditions that can affect football pitches and playing conditions.

Instead, the wintertime brings cooler temperatures and stable temperatures, making for ideal playing conditions.

Due to the bad weather, the 2023 edition held in the Ivory Coast was scheduled for the summer of 2022, but it was postponed until the following year.

Afcon can avoid conflicts with other international football competitions that traditionally take place in the summer because it is held in the winter.

Why does Afcon take place every two years?

Traditional biannual gatherings have been the Africa Cup of Nations. A spot at the World Cup was not guaranteed for African teams when it first started in 1957.

More African countries have participated in the World Cup over the years.

However, Afcon’s regularity ensures that tournament and tourism revenue has been consistent.

Additionally, it offers players and teams regular opportunities to compete.

To fit in with other international football competitions, Afcon will take place once every four years rather than every two.

Gianni Infantino, the president of Fifa, presented this concept to the Confederation of African Football (Caf) in 2020.

He also suggested Streamlining Afcon between September and November.

Patrice Motsepe, president of Confederation of African Football, announced that the tournament would take place every four years starting in 2028 on the eve of this year’s Afcon on Saturday, December 20.
