Jamie Laing has shared some adorable snaps of his new baby son after facing backlash following his comments about his wife’s maternity ward.
Sophie Habboo, 31, and her former Made In Chelsea co-star, 37, became proud parents to son, Ziggy, who was born in the private Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital, earlier this month. However, after welcoming the tot, Jamie complained on TikTok that his bed at the £6,000 a night wing – where Kate Middleton gave birth to all three of her children – was ‘uncomfortable’, prompting ‘tone deaf’ comments from some of his followers.
Following the backlash, the reality star has jumped on social media again, however, this time Jamie’s posted sweet snaps of little Ziggy and Sophie as the family of three get ready for their first Christmas together.

As new mom Sophie hugs them in front of their lavishly decorated Christmas tree, Jamie and baby Ziggy can be seen wearing matching pyjamas in a photo. In another shot, Sophie poses in the family’s new bathroom, which is said to be worth £12 million after a 14-month renovation, staring adoringly at her bundle of joy.
This Christmas is lit @sophiehabboo, Jamie wrote in a caption to the carousel of photos, which also includes two of Jamie pushing his buggy through London and one of his sleeping son on the sofa.
Fans have expressed criticism of the reality star after he complained about Sophie’s maternity suite, which some have called out as being out of touch. Jamie was able to sleep in his own single bed to be near his wife and their young son as part of the pricey package at the Lindo Wing.
He later claimed to have had an uncomfortable sleep after the baby was born, but he jokingly posted a picture of himself holding his back in pain.
He posted a photo of his temporary bed on TikTok to inform his followers about the pregnancy and said to “Don’t limp, hold your back, or complain immediately after your wife has given birth because your bed was uncomfortable.”
While many people were aware of Jamie’s joke attempt, some of his followers appeared to be expressing their disapproval of his actions. Because they only gave us a small plastic chair, my partner ended up sleeping on the floor. Another person responded, “Omg you got a bed! You ought to check out the chairs in the hospitals for the less fortunate, “lol.”
Through Instagram, Jamie and Sophie shared a number of images from the birth to celebrate the birth of their first child. Ziggy, you have our hearts, the post’s podcaster and radio host said.

A large crowd reportedly fills the streets in honor of 2024 student-led uprising leader Sharif Osman Hadi, who was fatally shot as he left a Dhaka mosque. Mohammad Yunus, the interim leader of Bangladesh, joined mourners days after Hadi’s passing in a hospital in Singapore.

Rwanda has been criticized by the UN Security Council for supporting an offensive by rebels in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is also being asked to halt support for the M23 armed group.
The UNSC extended the UN’s peacekeeping mission, known as MONUSCO, for a year on Friday, and the resolution was unanimously approved. Rwanda has repeatedly denied involvement in a conflict that has escalated as a result of a broken peace deal that was broken, contrary to overwhelming evidence.

The UNSC argued that M23’s seizure of the important city of Uvira “risches destabilizing the entire region, seriously endangers civilian populations, and severely limits ongoing peace efforts.”
According to US representative Jennifer Locetta, M23 must leave Uvira for at least 75 kilometers (47 miles) and return to carrying out all of its obligations under the Framework Agreement.
Less than a week after the DRC and Rwandan presidents met in Washington and pledged to reach a peace agreement, M23 captured Uvira in the South Kivu Province on December 10.
“It is a wonderful day for Africa, great day for the world, and great day for these two nations.” And they can’t stop laughing as fighting quickly tore the White House spectacle.
Feza Mariam, a Uvira resident, recently told Al Jazeera, “We don’t know anything about the political process they are talking about.”
“Peace is all we need,” he says. Anyone who can calm us down is welcome here. We as citizens don’t care about it for the rest.
The M23 organization announced on Wednesday that it was leaving the city in response to international criticism, but the DRC government maintained that the M23 forces are still present.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said his government had signed agreements it could hold people to and that commitments made under the Washington accord were still being made on Friday.
According to US officials, between 5, 000 and 7, 000 Rwandan soldiers were reportedly operating in eastern DRC as of early December, despite earlier warnings from the US that it would use the available means to combat those who violated the peace agreement.
Following the seizure of Uvira, the US had previously ordered Rwandan cabinet ministers to be held accountable.
More than 84, 000 people have fled into Burundi since early December, according to the UN refugee agency, which claims the country has reached a “critical point” as refugees arrive exhausted and traumatized. They join roughly 200 000 others who have already sought refuge in the nation.
More than 400 civilians have been killed in the city’s recent violence, according to regional officials.
Concerned about a wider regional spillover is resulted from Uvira’s seizure, which occurs directly across Lake Tanganyika from Bujumbura, Burundi’s largest city. After M23 seized the provincial capital, Bukavu, in February, the DRC government and the Wazalendo, which are DRC-allied militias, had their last significant foothold in South Kivu.
Despite the evaluations of UN experts and the international community, Rwanda has consistently denied backing M23. Despite being the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, Rwandan President Paul Kagame claimed in a February interview with CNN that he was unaware that the country’s troops were stationed in the DRC.
In February 2024, Rwanda rebuffed a US request to withdraw troops and surface-to-air missile systems, saying it had changed its self-defence posture. It also rejected this request.
Rwanda asserts that the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda, a militia made up primarily of Hutus who fled to the DRC after participating in the genocide that killed about 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus, is a factor in its security concerns.
Kigali accuses the DRC government of supporting the organization and views it as an existential threat.

Karen Carney, who, alongside her dance partner Carlos Gu, is in the running to lift the Glitterball trophy in the Strictly Come Dancing 2025 final, has admitted that she previously received a stern warning from BBC bosses after trying to get out of obeying a major show rule.
The former professional football player spoke to Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill about her struggles with adapting to the ballroom wardrobe, particularly high-heeled shoes, which were problematic.
Karen, 38, left fans taken aback by her impressive week one performance. However, she confessed to Jessica during a November appearance on her Gold Minds podcast that the secret to her success was actually taking to the dance floor in flats.
She explained to the retired Olympic athlete, “I believe the first dance, the Jive, even the shoes, were football boots.” So I felt really at ease in them, just like I did in my previous three dances.
Jessica, 39, yelled out a question to the Lioness about dancing in heels. She pondered: “Your feet absolutely kill. I was going to say, like, wearing heels and just going out for a night out, or just sitting with a meal.”
And I was watching you, “How do you dance in heels now, and your feet are breaking up after?”
The actress openly responded, “Oh yeah, honestly, that in itself is like… my heels for last week didn’t arrive until the day before, so I was like, “I hope they don’t come!”
Then, Karen confessed, “She begged Strictly bosses to allow her to skip wearing heels for one routine, but they warned the football pundit that her and Carlos’ scores from the judges would suffer if she” wore her black shoes.”
She continued, “I was begging, I was like, I hope they don’t come,” she continued. And they said, “If you wear your black shoes, which would look horrendous, you will get marked down,” and I was like, “Ok, but if I felt more comfortable and I danced better, would the marking actually balance itself out?”
They responded, “You can’t, it’s like, the rules, you have to wear them.” And I thought, “Ugh,” and then I sigh, and then the shoes arrived.
Karen impressed Strictly judges and viewers with her journey on the BBC series despite having trouble adapting to the change.
The star, who has faced cruel comments from online trolls as a football pundit, admitted: “For probably the next five or six years I’ve been open and honest about how I’ve been crushed quite a lot in terms of my confidence. I’ve also been soaring on leaps and bounds throughout the competition.
She continued, “I knew that Strictly would be the thing that would fix me if I ever had the chance to throw myself into what I believed would be my heart.”
Karen and Carlos are set to compete against George Clarke and his partner Alexis Warr, and Amber Davies and her dance partner Nikita Kuzmin in a bid to become this year’s Strictly champions.
Tonight at 7 p.m., Strictly Come Dancing: The Final will be streamed on BBC One and iPlayer.

In their contentious Netflix-backed fight on Friday in Miami, former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua defeated YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.
The gap in physical size and class between Britain’s two-time world champions Joshua and Paul, an internet personality who has forged a lucrative career through a few novelty boxing contests, had sparked outrage in boxing following the fight at the Kaseya Center, where both men reportedly split a $ 184 million purse.
However, Joshua persevered in the end to defeat his much less skilled opponent before his superior size and power eventually paid off with a sixth-round knockout in the closing stages of the eight-round fight.
Paul repeatedly dropped the canvas and grappled at Joshua’s legs, which occasionally turned into farce.
Even referee Christopher Young once appeared to be giving up on the fight, telling the fighters in the fourth round, “The fans did not pay to see this crap.”
The 6 ft 6 in (1. 98 m) tall Joshua started pounding more frequently as Paul grew tired, and after knocking down the 6 ft 1 in American twice in the fifth round, the victory was swift in the sixth round.

After teeing up Paul with a crunching left, Joshua backed the 28-year-old into a corner and delivered the decisive blow with a right to the chin that sent his opponent flying to the canvas.
Afterward, Joshua, 36, admitted, “It wasn’t the best performance.” However, Jake Paul was ultimately meant to be harmed, pin him down, and hurt.
That was the question that came to mind, I thought. The right hand eventually arrived at its destination after a little longer than expected.
Paul was praised for staying put into the later rounds by Joshua, who was also critical of him.
Joshua said, “I want to give him my props; he got up again and again,” He had a difficult time finding a way there, but he kept trying. A real man is required to accomplish that.
While Paul was pleased with his performance, Paul claimed that he believed his jaw had been broken despite having a bloody mouth from Joshua’s final assault.
That was enjoyable. “Paul said, “I gave it my all.” I had a blast. By the way, I believe my jaw is broken. However, Anthony is one of the best at it. I’m going to win a world championship when I return.
I just grew weary, to be honest, because it was putting so much pressure on him. I believe I could have maintained it and continued to fight with better cardio. But he really hits hard.
Later, the American confirmed that he had a “double broken jaw,” as described in a post on social media and accompanied by a photo of a radiograph.
The made-for-streaming fight on Friday, which took place just over a year after Paul had previously fought a 58-year-old Mike Tyson in a much-debated Netflix fight, had been widely dissented throughout boxing, with many warnings that Paul was likely to suffer a serious injury.
However, Paul struggled to stay within Joshua’s bounds as he battled to avoid the devastating first or second round knockout that most had anticipated failed.
Joshua always appeared to be the more dangerous fighter, landing 48 of the 146 punches thrown, compared to Paul’s meager total of 16 landed. This is Joshua’s first fight for 15 months.
The Briton will now be looking forward to a money-making fight with compatriot Tyson Fury, who was formerly the world champion, next year.
“We wiped away the cobwebs,” Joshua said, “and I can’t wait to start 2026.” Let’s put on some gloves and fight if Tyson Fury is as serious as he thinks he is.
