When: Sunday at 5:15pm (06:15 GMT)
With their stunning victory in their third game of the week on Thursday, Pakistan has maintained their chances of winning the T20 series’ five-match series.
It opens the door to a dramatic turnaround following a difficult opening for Pakistan’s tour and reduces New Zealand’s 2-1 lead in the series.
Al Jazeera examines the series’ so far and the fourth match.
What took place during Pakistan’s opening two matches?
As Pakistan struggled to make it to their first two games, New Zealand took the series lead.
After being defeated for 91, the Kiwis won the first game by nine wickets in Christchurch.
As he claimed 3-8 of his four overs and was a key player in bringing Salman Ali Agha’s side to 11-4 in the fifth over, Kyle Jamieson was Pakistan’s chief tormentor.
Their total was New Zealand’s lowest ever for a Pakistani side.
Pakistan’s five-wicket victory in the second match, which was fueled by a volley of sixes, didn’t bring much more joy to the nation.
Agha’s team scored 135-9 in the first inning, but Tim Seifert and Finn Allen each scored seven of their opening eight six-pointers in the chase.
How did Pakistan’s position against New Zealand change?
By the third game in Auckland, Pakistan was feeling more pressure than before the surprise decision to remove Mohammad Rizwan as captain and experienced batter Babar Azam from the T20 team.
Hasan Nawaz, a member of the new generation, is here.
The 23-year-old opener held onto his place for the third game, an unusual move in modern Pakistan cricket, despite having registered ducks in the first two games, which was his first taste of international cricket.
As the tourists raced to 207-1 in response to New Zealand’s 204, Nawaz showed the faith by posting an unbeaten 105.
The Pakistani right-hander, who was born in Islamabad, reached the T20 international record with only 44 balls, which is the fastest century ever by a player from the country.

news from the New Zealand team
Matt Henry’s participation in the T20 series’ final match has been canceled.
The seamer, who has a shoulder injury, opted not to play in the squad to continue his rehabilitation and missed the Champions Trophy final.
After being only listed for the first three games, Zak Foulkes is still in place for the remaining two games.
Will O’Rourke will continue playing in Kyle Jamieson’s place for the final two games after similarly being scheduled to sit them out.
In the first game of the series, the latter won Player of the Match, but during Nawaz’s assault, he had to deal with a difficult situation in the third game.
news from the Pakistani team
With no new injury concerns, Pakistan are expected to name the same team that prevailed in the series’ third game, which is a much simpler setup for the remainder of the series.
Pakistan already missed the injured duo of Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman for the series, along with Babar and Rizwan, who were both dropped.
Where will the series’ final game take place?
On Wednesday, the fifth and final T20 of the series will take place at Wellington’s Sky Stadium. It could turn out to be a decider.

Head-to-head
This will be the 48th T20 match between the sides, with New Zealand winning 21 of the matches while Pakistan won 24 of them.
What will the two teams do after that?
After the T20 series is over, Pakistan will continue its one-day international series, which will include three games.
The international game then takes a bit of a break, with many of the world’s top stars competing in the Indian Premier League from late March through mid-April.
In a three-match T20 series that will begin in July, followed by a three-match ODI series, Pakistan will play three matches in the West Indies. In July, New Zealand will play in Zimbabwe on a tour.
How to follow the series’ fourth T20
