NDLEA Intercepts Loud, Cannabis Hidden In Duvet At Lagos Airport
A shipment of cannabis, known as Loud, was discovered hidden under a duvet and headed for the United Kingdom, according to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Femi Babafemi, the director of media and advocacy for NDLEA, made this clear in a statement released on Sunday.
He claimed that two suspects linked to the consignment, Adakole Sunday and Austin Balogun, were detained on Tuesday after being discovered by NDLEA officers at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos.
The statement said that “six parcels of the psychoactive substance were concealed inside the duvet with a gross weight of 3.50 kilograms.”
The main agent who hired Adakole claimed in his statement that he was paid N700,000 to transport the consignment to the UK but that he only spent a small portion of the money on export handling fees and the purchase of an apartment.
