NBA: LA Lakers trounced on LeBron’s return as Bucks rally to beat Kings

LeBron James’ return from a two-week absence with a groin injury was spoilt by the Chicago Bulls, who defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 146-115.

James, the NBA’s top scorer all-time, recorded 17 points, six rebounds, and four assists on Saturday in his 31 minutes on the court.

Luka Doncic, who had a sore ankle and is now back in action, scored a team-high 34 points with eight three-pointers in the second half before running out of steam.

Austin Reaves scored 25 points while also having ankle issues. The Lakers, who are third in the Western Conference, scored five in a short period of time after missing 12 games with a knee injury.

According to Lakers coach JJ Redick, “that was the worst our defense has probably looked at all year, at least not in the last three months.”

“I don’t know if we thought that it would just be like it was three weeks ago because we had everyone back,” he said.

21 Lakers’ turnovers and Coby White and Josh Giddey’s big games gave Chicago a win.

White had six three-pointers and had 36 points overall, while Giddey, an Australian, had 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 17 assists.

Giddey also had eight steals from the Bulls, coming in just two steals shy of a eminently rare quadruple-double.

The Bulls, who are ninth in the Eastern Conference, kept pushing to earn a spot in the play-in tournament with 31-point scorers thanks to rookie Matas Buzelis.

LeBron James played for the Los Angeles Lakers for 31 minutes before scoring 17 points.

Third-place New York Knicks ended their two-game losing streak with a 122-103 victory over the league’s worst Washington Wizards at Madison Square Garden.

In addition to Jalen Brunson, the Knicks struggled offensively in the absence of Karl-Anthony Towns, who scored 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. OG Anunoby scored 23 points while Mikal Bridges added 27.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, a star player for Milwaukee, led the Bucks to a 114-108 victory over the Kings in Sacramento on 22 of his 32 points.

The Hawks defeated the Golden State Warriors 124-115 in Atlanta with a balanced attack.

The Hawks, who are vying for play-in position in six of their last eight, have scored 25 points and contributed 10 assists, while Onyeka Okongwu added 22 points and rebounds.

Without superstar guard Stephen Curry, who reportedly slipped his pelvis in a hard fall on Thursday, the Warriors were clinging to sixth place in the West and attempting to avoid the play-in.

Moses Moody added 20 points, but the Warriors were essentially invincible all the way.
