Naomi Campbell, the model’s ex-girlfriend, is contesting her decision to not serve as a charity trustee. She claims a fake email was used to impersonate her.

Last year, she was disqualified from being a trustee at her charity, Fashion for Relief, for five years. In the Charity Commission’s report, serious mismanagement of funds, including spa treatments and hotel stays, was discovered. As a result of the investigation, Campbell was one of the three trustees who received a disqualification.

In 2021, the Charity Commission, which regulates and registers charities in England and Wales, opened an inquiry into fashion for relief. It was disbanded earlier this year and removed from the charity register. By making grants to other organizations and providing resources after global disasters, it was established to bring together the fashion industry to combat poverty and advance health and education.

At the time, she said she was “extremely concerned” by the regulator’s findings, adding that she was “not in control of my charity” having “put the control in the hands of a lawyer”. Naomi claims she wants to “ensure that those responsible are held accountable and justice is done” and that her case will now be before a tribunal on Friday.

Naomi’s supporters claimed evidence of a fake email account that they claimed was used to impersonate the supermodel in communications with lawyers was presented to the commission, giving the commission a false impression of Naomi’s involvement in running the UK charity.

Her reps added that she didn’t get to respond to the allegations because she wasn’t informed of them in the inquiry. In a statement on Wednesday, Naomi explained: “I am grateful to the tribunal for allowing me to appeal the Charity Commission’s findings after considering the evidence I have submitted.

” Ever since the commission’s report, I have fought to uncover the facts. What has been unearthed so far is shocking. To help others go through what I have been through, I want to highlight how simple it is to fake identities online. I want to see that those accountable are held accountable and that justice is served.

“Having begun legal action, I will have more to say in due course. This is just the beginning. I have never, and never will, engaged in philanthropic work for personal gain, as I have previously stated.
