‘My £50 watch is always mistaken for Meghan Markle and Taylor Swift’s £25k Cartier one’

A watch is one of the most enduring and well-known accessories you can purchase. If celebrities are any guide, Cartier may be the only choice. The right watch will be both fashionable and practical.

Meghan Markle is known to wear Princess Diana’s Cartier Tank Française, which retails for more than £20, 000, whilst Taylor Swift was recently spotted in the Cartier Panthère Watch, which you can pick up for £25, 400. However, one of my favourite go-to watches is the Sekonda Monica, and I’ve had so many people ask if it’s the Cartier one – despite the fact it has a £50 price tag.

The Sekonda Monica is currently on sale on Amazon for £50.95, but it comes in a variety of different silver and mixed metal colors. The gold one is the best option for a budget-conscious person looking for the celeb-loved look. The case has an ion-plated case around a white face and black Roman numerals, just like the Cartier one, while the dial is made from a gold-tone alloy that has been ion-plated.

It has a two-year battery life and accurate timekeeping thanks to a Japanese quartz movement. A rectangular face and linked metal bracelet complete the Sekonda Monica’s classic design.

It’s also versatile enough to be worn anywhere for any occasion, and I’ve worn mine to the office, on a date and at a wedding, with it instantly adding a classy, sophisticated look to all of my outfits. Although it has a small, unobtrusive design, the face is still large enough to be read in one glance.

The sizing, which I find to be quite large fitting, is my only gripe. You can remove links, but I had to take it to a watch repair shop to make sure everything was done right. Once it was adjusted, however, it fit like a dream.

Amazon shoppers have also been singing its praises, with one saying: “Beautiful watch, amazing quality, really recommend”. One person continued, “My new watch has received a lot of compliments for a fraction of the price, but I can’t afford the thousands of pounds I could spend on it.” I love it”.
