Will Smallbone and Callum O’Dowda were both ruled out for the Uefa Nations League play-off against Bulgaria, so Stoke’s Andrew Moran and Southampton’s Ryan Manning have been called up to the Squad for the Republic of Ireland.

Smallbone and O’Dowda, both of whom were injured, were reported in a Republic of Ireland statement.

In the first leg of Heimir Hallgrimsson’s Ireland team’s game against Bulgaria in Plovdiv on Thursday, before the return match in Dublin on Sunday.

In the face of League C3, the Irish are aiming to remain in League B.

Both Moran and Manning left for the service on Sunday, and they’ll begin their training.

Squad for the Republic of Ireland

Goalkeepers: Kelleher (Liverpool), Travers (Middlesbrough, on loan from Bournemouth), and Bazunu (Standard Liege, on loan from Southampton)

Defenders: Brady (Preston), Manning (Southampton), Doherty (Wolves), Collins (Brentford), O’Shea (Ipswich), Dunne (QPR), Abankwah (Watford), Doherty (Wolves), and Doherty (Wolves).

Cullen (Burnley), Knight (Bristol City), Taylor (Ipswich Town), Azaz (Middlesbrough), and Moran (Stoke, on loan from Brighton) are the midfielders.
