Monty Don, a radio personality, has claimed that he once unintentionally ended up “stark b*****k naked” in his own garden.

The presenter, 69, is known for fronting Gardeners ‘ World, having taken over as its host in 2003. He briefly left between 2008 and 2011 but has since remained on the long-running BBC Two show, which is yet to return for its next series.

Monty films the BBC show in Longmeadow, which is the sprawling garden located at his home Herefordshire. The TV star has spent more than three decades caring for the two-acre garden, which has also served as the show’s setting.

In an interview that was made public this week, he now recalls an incident he claimed once took place at the property. After cattle once arrived on the vast estate, the horticulturist made fun of the fact that he ended up naked in his garden.

Monty told how “sometimes” there’s wildlife in the garden that he doesn’t want there and he recalled cattle once getting in. He said, “I looked out the window and saw this large, white face staring at me.”

Monty Don made fun of trying to get cattle out of his garden when he once ended up naked (Brentwood Gazette).

He continued: “So I got a towel and rushed outside to chase them. After putting on some wellies, the towel fell and I was “running around Longmeadow stark b*****k naked” However, they did manage to expel the cattle from the garden, according to Money, who added that they now “keep them out.”

The presenter is performing at a number of venues in the UK this month as part of his An Audience with Monty Don tour. He ended up postponing several dates because of concerns for his health after the tour started last year. Since then, Money has re-examined the tour, and some of the rescheduled performances have been occurring.

He posted on Instagram on Thursday: “A couple of shots from last night’s performance in Nottingham. Due to illness, I’ll be in Exeter on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon to complete the gigs I had put off until before Christmas.

At the end of November last year, it was announced that some tour dates wouldn’t go ahead as planned. Monty told fans in a video message: “Hello. I regret so much for the many people who planned to see me in Exeter, Truro, Bath, and Nottingham.

He continued: “But on Friday afternoon I was rushed to A&amp, E and I was kept in the hospital over Saturday, Sunday and Monday attached to drips and all the rest of it, but I came home last night. I’m feeling much better. I’ll quietly recuperate here at home over the coming weekend, with the hope that I’ll be back in top shape.

Monty will remain Gardeners’ World for at least another two years, according to a report released last month. He will serve as the show’s lead presenter until at least 2026, according to The Radio Times. He told the outlet: “I never make plans beyond two years, but I’ve agreed to do another two]from January 2025]”. He added: “The truth is that I do enjoy it. I’m lucky because it’s in my own garden”.
